Main responsibilities:
As a Data & Business Analyst within the Esade Careers Team, you will play a key role in enabling data‑driven decision-making across the department. You will manage, analyze, and translate data related to student outcomes, internships, and employment trends into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing independent analytical work with collaborative problem‑solving.
Data Analysis, Reporting & Presentation
Preparing ad hoc analyses and reports using Excel, Power Query, Power BI.
Identify meaningful insights beyond raw data and develop clear, concise summaries for stakeholders.
Monitor key activities and initiatives, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
Define and maintain KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of career development programs and initiatives.
Present insights in an accessible and compelling manner to primarily non‑technical audiences
Student Outcomes & Internship Data Ownership
Support teams in data input and validation tasks.
Update recurring reports and dashboards related to student internships and full-time outcomes.
Analyze career paths and outcomes for graduates, including employment rates, job placements, compensation data, and other relevant metrics.
Run cohort analyses to understand the performance of specific programs in the job market.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Collaborate closely with the team lead and all teams across Careers to understand their data needs and provide timely, high-quality support.
Adapt communication style for diverse audiences, including both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Anticipate business needs and offer proactive data-driven insights and recommendations.
Work cross-functionally with other departments such as the Central Data Team, Quality & Accreditations, Business Enablement, Admissions, Rankings, and Programs to develop a holistic analytical perspective.
Set and communicate clear expectations, deliverables, and timelines for requests.
Request Management
Collect business requirements for on-demand analyses, reports, and dashboard enhancements.
Guide stakeholders in clarifying needs, structuring questions, and defining the right analytical approach.
Advise on the feasibility and scope of requests, providing data-driven recommendations when appropriate.
Coordinate closely with the Data Architect and area lead to implement validated changes and improvements.
On-Demand Support & Incident Management
Act as the primary point of contact within the team for data‑related questions.
Troubleshoot and resolve questions about dashboards, reports, and data usage.
Manage technical incidents related to Salesforce, internal databases, and external platforms.
Data Collection, Quality & Management
Gather and consolidate data from multiple internal and external sources, including Salesforce, student surveys, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
Manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to prepare data for reporting and analysis.
Maintain and update recurring reports using Excel, SharePoint lists, and Power Automate.
Support database management and continuous improvement to ensure data accuracy, quality, and completeness.
Technology & Process Improvement
Quickly learn and adopt new tools, features, and capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Test, evaluate, and integrate new analytics to enhance data processes and reporting.
Propose and implement improvements in data collection, storage, and analysis workflows to increase efficiency and quality.
Soft Skills:
Data Interpretation Advanced: Translates data into clear business recommendations and provides actionable insights.
Problem Solving Advanced: Uses critical thinking to address root causes of data discrepancies with a proactive attitude towards process improvement.
Communication Skills Advanced: Communicates business findings and solutions effectively to non-technical audiences.
Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements for the position:
Advanced: No specific degree is required; the most important factor we will consider is the experience working in data and analytics environments in a business facing role.
Previous experience in: minimum of 4 years working in data and analytics environments in a business facing role
Languages: English - Advanced
IT knowledge:
- Excel Advanced: Creates macros, advanced referencing, and leverage Excel with other tools like Power Query.
- Power Query Intermediate: Combine multiple queries using merge and append operations; optimize query steps for better performance through query folding.
- Power BI Basic: Familiar with Power BI desktop, creating basic reports, and understanding key visualizations.
- Understanding of CRM data structures, particularly within Salesforce.
